MA860C Digital 2-Phase Open-loop Stepper Driver Introduction
 
1. Product Overview
 
The MA860C is a 32-bit DSP-based digital two-phase open-loop stepper driver upgraded to replace legacy DMA860H & MA860H models. It is a cost-effective mainstream driver designed for 86-frame & partial small-current 110-frame two-phase stepper motors, widely deployed on CNC engravers, cutting machines, automated conveyor equipment and general industrial automation.
The V3.0 version adds fault alarm output, brake control, one-click 5V/24V signal switching and pulse smoothing filter functions.
 
2. Key Electrical Specifications
 
- Power Input: AC30~80V (compatible with DC40~110V); AC60V/70V transformer is the standard matching power supply.
- Output Current: Peak 2.4A~7.2A adjustable via 8-position DIP switch; IO-controlled version supports max 8.3A via software setup, matching 3A~7A rated 86-series stepper motors.
- Microstep Resolution: 16 selectable microstep settings: 2/4/8/16/32/64/128/256; max 256 microstep equals 51200 pulses per full rotation for 1.8° step angle motors.
- Control Signal: Supports Pulse+Direction or Dual-pulse control; compatible with differential, NPN common-anode & PNP common-cathode signal input. V3.0 allows direct 5V/24V signal switch without external current-limiting resistors. Standard terminals: PUL, DIR, ENA; V3.0 extra terminals for fault alarm & brake output for brake-equipped stepper motors.
- Dimension: 151×97×57mm, aluminum alloy housing for vertical mounting & efficient heat dissipation.

Setting Tip: Set driver output current at approx. ×1.05 of motor rated current; avoid long-term operation over 7.2A peak current.
 
5. DIP Switch Setup Instruction
 
- SW1~SW3 (3-bit): 8-level output current selection, factory default at 5.6A; configure per motor rated current.
- SW4~SW7 (4-bit): 16-level microstep selection; 32 microstep for engraving machines, 64 for standard CNC, 128/256 for precision automation.
- Extra DIP on V3.0: Signal voltage toggle (5V/24V), smoothing time setting & brake function enable/disable.
