The DM556 is a high-performance two-phase digital stepper driver based on DSP control, compatible with a variety of stepper motors, and widely used in small and medium-sized automation equipment.
1. Performance: The input voltage range is typically 20-80VDC, with a peak output current of up to 5.6A and a pulse input frequency of up to 200kHz, meeting the demands of high-speed operation. It supports 2-phase and 4-phase stepper motors, adapting to various motor models such as NEMA17-34. The micro-stepping resolution is adjustable between 400-25600 steps/revolution, ensuring smooth operation.
2. Features: Equipped with motor self-detection and automatic parameter tuning technology, it can adapt to different motors and generate optimal operating parameters. It features anti-resonance technology to avoid instability during medium-speed operation and automatically reduces idle current to minimize heat generation. It adopts a TTL-compatible optically isolated input design, providing strong anti-interference capabilities and multiple protection functions including overvoltage, overcurrent, and phase reversal protection.
3. Practical Design: Current and microstepping parameters can be configured via DIP switches, making operation simple. It supports both PUL/DIR and CW/CCW control modes to adapt to different control needs. Some derivative models, such as DM556-CAN, also support the CANopen protocol, suitable for multi-axis linkage scenarios, reducing wiring and improving operational reliability.
4. Typical Applications: Due to its low noise and good low-speed stability, it is commonly used in automated equipment such as laser cutting machines, engraving machines, 3D printers, CNC machine tools, high-precision XY tables, and robotic arms.
